2008 QMJHL Entry Draft to be Webcast by Eastlink

by Eastlink.ca

The QMJHL Entry Draft will take place on June 7th at Centre 200, home of the Cape Breton Screaming Eagles. EastLink Television will have live in-depth coverage and analysis of the entire first round as teams from across the league make their picks. The Eastlink feed will also be available on the web for free in Real Player format.

It is expected that several Maritime players will be selected in the first round. PEI's Brandon Gormley is ranked first among all prospects and close behind him, ranked second, is Sean Couturier of New Brunswick. Couturier and Gormley were teammates this season with the famed Notre Dame Hounds of the Saskatchewan Midget 'AAA' League. Another notable Maritime player is Nova Scotia's Ben Duffy, who is ranked fifth by International Scouting Service and is a exceptional offensive player.

"We're really looking forward to covering the first round of this year's draft," says EastLink Television Senior Sports Producer, Dan Robertson. "Draft day is an exciting time for the young hockey prospects, the Q teams and their fans. It should make for great television, and we're excited to be a part of the event."

Don't miss "The 2008 QMJHL Entry Draft", live from Sydney, Nova Scotia. Saturday, June 7th, at 8:30 AM ET.
